The
Legacy Team at VanDyk Mortgage Cincinnati would like to wish America’s Veteran’s
a Happy and Peace-filled Veteran’s Day.
We honor you and thank you for your service to our country. Without the
hard work and sacrifices of the men and woman in the armed services, the rest
of us would not enjoy the high quality of life we have today.
Did
you know that a majority of service men and woman, once they are discharged
from active duty, face many challenges adjusting to civilian life? It’s true
and well documented but not necessarily well known.
Combat
Veterans to Careers is an agency that works with Veterans who served in post-9/11 Iraq or Afghanistan.
Combat
Veterans to Careers (CVC) was founded in The Villages of central Florida in May
2012 with the commitment to serve our nation’s combat veterans and their
families.
CVC has
partnered with local residents, clubs, businesses, colleges and VA offices to
bring combat veterans and their families “home” to a community that embraces
them and provides education, understanding and meaningful employment to
minimize hardships.
In addition to
counseling, housing, career and educational opportunities, they provide
veterans with opportunities to deliver services beyond themselves. This is
essential to successfully reconnecting with others in the community, and is a
large part of why many veterans were led to serve their country in the first
place.
Accessing care
and benefits through the VA, utilizing earned education benefits, training for
civilian careers, securing affordable housing and developing a quality resume
package are just a few of the ways we continue to help our veterans transition
back into civilian life.
Here is the
link to a success story from the Combat Veterans to Careers website about David
Gomez an American Hero and his family. http://combatveteranstocareers.org/success-stories
On this Veteran’s day,
take a moment to watch the video about the Gomez family in order to become more
aware of the adjustment issues our veterans face while transitioning back into
civilian life. Awareness and education
regarding the issues our soldiers and their families face is the first step in
fixing “the system” for all of our military heroes.
Happy Veteran’s Day 2015
from VanDyk Mortgage Cincinnati. We
proudly serve our veteran’s and active military persons by growing their family’s
legacy through home ownership.
